Smaragdus
Made a dragon character for fun, here‘s a small description I wrote for 'em: "Smaragdus, protector of the Enchanted Forest. Unlike most draconic beings of its kind, Smaragdus is rather peaceful; only attacking once provoked. As it’s title suggests, Smaragdus is the fearless protector of its home, the Enchanted Forest — acting as a guardian to the flora and fauna that inhabit it. When faced with a threat, Smaragdus will use its "Crystalline Aura" — an ability that allows Smaragdus to focus the energy of its powerful aura; manipulating it into solid crystalline structures which can form anywhere around the creature. Whether these crystals form from the ground beneath or manifested within thin air, they are typically very sharp and contain a form of energy within them. This energy is concentrated magic from Smaragdus' aura, which can be dispersed in short bursts from the crystals in the form of lasers, or released rapidly to result in a small explosion — which effectively flings sharp crystalline shards within a small radius. The very blood of Smaragdus is blue, and most properties of it remain unknown and anomalous to this day, although when exposed via a wound this blood has an interesting reaction to Smaragdus' aura. When exposed, Smaragdus can weaponize it’s blood; whether it be hardening it, altering its temperature or simply changing the state of matter its in. Smaragdus has been known to use this ability strategically in combat, though interestingly all of its blood will always find a way back to his body, being attracted to it like a magnet — intertwined with its very soul." -SL
