One Last Chance

It worked. Their plan and hard work paid off. The next step sounded much easier than the rest, but was much harder to pull off than Chara anticipated. The last time she had done this, she was the one who was absorbed. Now, the remnants of herself was the holder of the souls inside this temporary body. And it was chaos. Her mind was invaded by foreign memories and emotions as she gasped for the air she suddenly needed. The combined weight of their thoughts was deafening and yet there were no words or noises to hear from the minds. They were so tangled, Chara couldn't make out her own self. The sensory overload was so great. And Chara couldn't contain it as tears started falling from fear, confusion and head-piercing noise. Then, a familiar aura began to make it's way into the fray. It was larger than her own, and cool. It slowed down a third of the mess in her head and, with soft intentions, whispered silent messages. And even though Chara couldn't make out the words, she knew the comforting relief it was sending. Another aura, smaller and warmer than the other, slowed the confusion of their souls, and joined in, obviously curious and waiting for action. ''thank you.'' Chara said out loud as she looked up to find the familiar glowing orange icon awaiting her. (Hey, this is one of three endings to the Gathering Dust AU, not the full thing of course but a general idea of what it's about. If you want to see the other endings, comment it and I'll consider doing another poll!)
